Scanning Settings

Control how Power Scraper Pro finds and identifies media files.

File Types

Supported Video Extensions

Select which file types to scan for:
  • MKV ✓ (recommended container)
  • MP4
  • AVI
  • M4V
  • MOV
Uncheck any formats you don’t use to speed up scanning.

File Filters

Minimum File Size

Ignore files smaller than this threshold:
  • Default: 100 MB
  • Purpose: Filters out trailers, samples, and small clips
  • Range: 0 MB - 1000 MB
Set to 0 to include all files, or increase to 500 MB if you have many large trailers being detected.

Delete Sample Files

Automatically delete detected sample files:
  • Off (default): Sample files are ignored but not deleted
  • On: Files matching sample patterns are deleted
Only enable this if you’re sure you want sample files permanently removed.

Sample File Patterns

Files matching these patterns are considered samples:
  • Contains “sample” in filename
  • Contains “trailer” in filename (optional)
  • Files in “Sample” folders

Folder Handling

Recursive Scanning

  • On (default): Scan subfolders
  • Off: Only scan the selected folder, not subfolders

Ignore Hidden Files

  • On (default): Skip files/folders starting with .
  • Off: Include hidden files

Ignore Folders Named

Skip folders matching specific names:
  • Default: @eaDir, .@__thumb, #recycle
  • Add custom folder names to ignore

NAS Optimization

Enable NAS Mode

Optimizations for network-attached storage:
  • Single-pass scanning (reduces network requests)
  • Larger read buffers
  • Automatic disconnection handling
NAS mode is auto-detected for SMB/AFP/NFS volumes but can be forced on for any folder.
