Installation

Power Scraper Pro is a native macOS application. Installation takes less than a minute.

Install

  1. Open the downloaded .dmg file
  2. Drag Power Scraper Pro to your Applications folder
  3. Eject the disk image
  4. Launch Power Scraper Pro from Applications or Spotlight
First Launch: macOS may show a security prompt. Click “Open” to allow the app to run. This only happens once.

First Launch

When you first open Power Scraper Pro, you’ll see the onboarding wizard:
  1. Welcome Screen — Overview of what the app does
  2. API Key Setup — Enter your TMDB API key (required)
  3. Optional: Fanart.tv — Add enhanced artwork support
  4. Ready to Go — Start adding your media folders

Updating

Power Scraper Pro checks for updates automatically. When an update is available:
  1. A notification appears in the app
  2. Click Download Update
  3. The app will restart with the new version
You can also check manually via Power Scraper Pro → Check for Updates in the menu bar.

Uninstalling

To remove Power Scraper Pro:
  1. Quit the app if running
  2. Drag Power Scraper Pro from Applications to Trash
  3. Optionally, remove preferences:
    • ~/Library/Application Support/Power Scraper Pro/
    • ~/Library/Preferences/com.powerscraperpro.app.plist
Uninstalling does not delete your media files, NFO files, or artwork. Those remain in your media folders.
